All About the Amazing Aussiedoodle
Aussiedoodle dogs are a combination of an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. Sometimes called Aussiepoo's these dogs are affectionate companion dogs that love to be by their people. They are very intelligent dogs that love to have a job to do. Australian Shepherds are herding dogs that historically have watched over their animals. Poodles are bird dogs with a keen sense for hunting. The combination of these two breeds creates a dog that loves to do what their people are doing weather snuggling on the sofa or hiking in the woods, Aussiedoodles are up for anything. Aussiedoodles have a goofy loving personality, they will let you know when someone is near the house but quickly warm up to strangers when they realize that there is no danger. They adapt well to new situations and because they come from two of the smartest dog breeds they are easier to train. Aussiedoodles naturally retrieve and herd, two qualities passed down from the Australian Shepherd and Poodle. Ours brings us things like slippers when we are sitting on the couch at the end of the day and his food bowl when he is hungry. He also likes to "herd" all the people and dogs in the house, which means he walks around and checks on everyone periodically. It is really endearing. |
F1, first generation, Aussiedoodles shed very minimally and many people who have allergies can tolerate an Aussiedoodle. Our Aussiedoodles are one step beyond the first generation and are breed back to a poodle. They are F1B which means they are 75% poodle and 25% Australian Shepherd. This makes our dogs less likely to shed and less likely to cause allergies. Although it is important to know that no dog is truly hypoallergenic. Taking care of your Aussiedoodle requires brushing, bathing and teeth cleaning. We bath our dogs when they need it, about every 4-8 weeks, we brush our dogs hair a few times a week and brush their teeth at the same time. We recommend professional grooming a few times a year. There is no standard cut for an Aussiedoodle and some people like the long shaggy look and some prefer a close cut. My husband and I have had many different types of dogs and we absolutely fell in love with the Aussiedoodle. We love their playful and loving heart. We wanted to share this amazing dog with others so we started a small breeding program. We only have a few litters a year. We will only place our dogs in pet homes and we require or puppies to be spayed or neutered through our puppy contract. If you think and Aussiedoodle might be right for you we would love for you to contact us with any questions. Please have a look around. We hope we can connect you with a companion that will bring you many years of joy and love. |
