Why do we breed dogs? First and foremost my husband and I love dogs, but breeding dogs is a labor of love. We wanted to raise dogs that were great family pets. We have had several different types of dogs. I am allergic to dogs so I need to have dogs that cause less of an allergic reaction. Poodle's are hypoallergenic however pure breed dogs can come with health issues so we started looking into poodle crosses. After a lot of research we selected the Australian Shepherd x Poodle Cross known as the Aussiedoodle, sometimes also called the Aussiepoo. Please read more about how awesome aussidoodles are on our "aussiedoodle" page. Puppies take a lot of time and dedication but my husband and I enjoy the process and the happiness it brings to other families.
What sets up apart from other breeders? We are a small breeder with only one litter at a time. We dedicate all our attention to one litter and that makes a positive difference. We support mom and her puppies around the clock to ensure that mom and puppies are thriving. We raise using Puppy Culture and BAB protocols. These approaches to raising puppies in an ethical and responsible way to ensure that puppies can grow to be the best versions of themselves. This includes Early Neurological Stimulation, exposure to different people, foods, noises and environments, daily new experiences, potty training, crate/kennel training, leash work and basic commands masters such as sit, leave it and come. We can only set the stage in the 8 weeks they are with us, but we do our best to set them up for success so that when they transition to your family you have a dog that is ready to learn.
How do we ensure healthy dogs? We ensure our breeding dogs are healthy through testing and are a good match genetically. There is something called hybrid vigor which encourages the continuation of positive health traits over the parents. Essentially it helps to create dogs who do not have the genetic disorders that pure breed dogs often have. Hybrid vigor is used in all genetics to produce healthy next generations. We feed quality food and snacks and give our dogs plenty of free roaming exercise. We use special bedding in the whelping box to ensure their hips are strong to hopefully prevent hip dysplasia.
How does our program look different to other breeders? We offer lifetime support. What do we mean by that? We always want to help our puppies be successful in their new families. At any point we are here to support you it does not matter if your puppy is 10 weeks old or 10 years old. We are here for the lifetime of our puppies. We will always take puppies back at anytime of their life because we never want our puppies to end up in shelters and we know that situations may come up in peoples lives. We are here to help with all sorts of questions and offer ideas that might be helpful should you run into any issues.
